Dozens of smaller titans invade the city of Shinganshina and devour many of it's residents including Eren's mother. His father had left early that day after telling Eren that there was something he wanted to show him in the basement. The survivors attempt to escape further into the walls, but the Armored Titan appears and destroys the inner gate, ending even more lives. It was this day that Eren swore to kill all the titans in the world. | 2

Battle of Trost District | The day after graduation from the training corps, the Colossal Titan returns and destroys the wall once again. During their first real fight against the titans in the Trost District, many soldiers are lost. After getting eaten by a titan to save Armin, Eren mysteriously turns into a titan himself. He saves Mikasa and proceeds to slaughter many of the invading titans. When the Garrison tries to kill him because they don't trust him, Armin, Mikasa, and Commander Pyxis come to protect. They then use Eren's titan to place a large boulder in front of the hole in the wall to stop the mindless titans from coming in. | 9
Eve of the Counterattack | Eren is brought in front of a judge to decide what is to be done with him, now that he possesses the power to transform into a titan. It's ultimately decided that Eren will join the Scout Regiment, under the supervision of Commander Erwin, Captain Levi, and Section Commander Hange. He's certain that the secret his dad left in the basement of their house in Shinganshina holds the answers to his situation. Soon after, most of the 104th training corps join the Scouts as well. Preparations are made for the next mission outside the walls | 3
The Female Titan | The scouting mission goes awry when another sentient titan, the Female Titan, attacks the cadets. It kills Levi's team and unsuccsessfully attempts to kidnap Eren, before getting easily defeated by Levi. The mission is called off as more mindless titans appear and ravage the scouts. Back in the city, the Female Titan is revealed to be Annie Leonhart. A climactic titan battle esues between Eren and Annie. With help from the Garrison and Mikasa, Eren defeats Annie, who traps herself in a crystal made of hardened titan skin. Right before the season ends, we're left with the image of the face of a colossal titan inside the walls. | 9
Clash of the Titans | Dozens of mindless titans appear within the walls, despite no clear entrances for them. The Beast Titan shocks the scouts that live to tell about it's unique apperance and abillity to talk. Connie returns to his village to find that his mother has somehow become an immobile, mindless titan. While cornered by titans, Ymir reveals that she can turn into a smaller, gremlin-like titan. When everyone reconvenes, one of the biggest twists in the series takes place: Reiner and Bertolt are the Armored and Colossal Titans. After a brief struggle, Eren is taken again. Reiner wants to take him back to his "homeland." An incredibly couragous and risky move from Commander Erwin retrieves Eren back from the traitors, but not after costing them dearly. Just when all seems lost, Eren awakens a new ability that allows to briefly control the titans. He sends them after the Smiling Titan and buys the scouts time to retreat. The season ends with the revelation that all titans were once human, Reiner, Bertolt, and Ymir back in Shinganshina, and a mysterious figure emerging from the Beast Titan. | 12
Royal Government | The government inside the Walls demands that the Scouts turn over Eren and Historia, the rightful heir to the throne. The Scouts get ambushed by Kenny Ackerman, a mercenary and the man who raised Levi when he was a kid. Kenny's squad attacks Levi and kidnaps Eren and Historia. The two get taken to an underground crystaline chamber where they meet Rod Reiss, Historia's dad. He reveals to Eren that his father, Grisha, was the former holder of the Attack Titan, and he used to slaughter the Reiss family to obtain a power (the Founding Titan). Eren is overcome with grief and regret for his father's actions and asked Historia to take the injection to become a titan and eat him. While this was happening, the Scout were on the run from the government and searching for the two. They find the chamber, leading to a big fight between Levi and Kenny's squads. Squad Levi is victorious, and Kenny reveals that he took in Levi after his mom died because that was his sister. He leaves Levi with a single syringe with titan serum. Rod Reiss turned himself into a massive blob-like titan and heads for the city, and Eren gains the ability to harden his titan's skin. In the end, Rod Reiss is defeated and Historia is made queen, as Erwin and Pyxis were successful in overthrowing the current government. | 12
Return to Shinganshina | The Scouts set out on a mission to reclaim Shinganshina from the titans. Hange's new weapon, the Thunder Spears, has brought hope of reclaiming the city to an all-time high. However, the Scouts are still met with heavy resistance from Reiner, Bertolt, the Beast Titan, and an army of mindless titans. With the Thunder Spears and Eren's new hardening ability, the 104th are more easily about to take down the Armored Titan, while the Beast showers the rest of the Scouts with boulders. A heroic final charge from Commander Erwin and the entire Survey Corps buys Levi an opening to finally take down the Beast, but the man inside it escapes. Back inside the walls, Eren and his friends are having a much harder time dealing with Bertolt, who has transformed into the Colossal Titan. Armin distracts him longer enough for Eren to plug the hole in the wall and cut Bertolt out of his titan, but not before suffering severe burns, leaving him on the brink of death. With the titan serum from Kenny, the Scouts have a heated argument on who they should use it on: Armin or Erwin. Ultimately, Levi decides to let Erwin rest and saves Armin, feeding him the capture Bertolt and passing on the Colossal Titan to him. They make their way into the basement of Eren's old house and learn things that turn the entire series on it's head. Humanity is still alive outside the walls. Grisha Yeager's books reveal that the people inside the walls are known as Eldians, and that he is from a country called Marley. In Marley, it's believed that the Eldians once used the power of the titans to oppress the rest of the world. After 2000 years, the Eldian King Fritz took his remaining people to live on an island known as Paradis; the island where the whole series has taken place so far. He claimed that he only wanted peace, but after everything they went through, the Marleyans began treating the Eldians terribly, blaming them for the suffering they caused many years ago. Grisha, an Eldian, joined a liberation group after his sister was murdered by Marleyan police officers. He got married and had a son, Zeke Yeager: the man currently holding the Beast Titan. As a kid, Zeke turned his parents in and got them sent to Paradis as punishment. The Eldian prisoners get turned into pure titan, but an undercover agent saves Grisha by transfoming into the Attack Titan. This man would later turn Grisha into a titan and fed himself to him. Everyone is shook after learning all this, but a cerimony is held shortly after to celebrate the reclamation of Shinganshina. But when Eren kisses Historia's hand, he's left distraught by a vision he gets.. | 10
Marley | 4 years after fleeing the island, Reiner feels immense guilt for the atrocities he committed back on Paradis. A new generation of Marleyan kids are training to become Warriors and inherit the Titans. including Reiner's little cousin Gabi and her friend Falco. The Jaw Titan has been passed onto Porco Galliard and Cart Titan is Pieck Finger. A shakey victory against the Mid-East Allied Forces reveals that the time of Titans is coming to an end, and they need to reclaim the Founder. While this was happening, the Scouts crossed the sea and infiltrated Marley. Eren holds a secret meeting with Reiner, where the former states he understands why Reiner did what he did. All the people of Marley are raised to believe the people on Paradis are all devils, and Reiner wanted to get rid of them to save the world, similar to how Eren felt with the Titans. However, Eren has already made up his mind, and follows through with a surprize attack in Liberio. He successfully defeated and steals the power of the Warhammer Titan with the help of the Scout Reigment, armed with all new gear making them even more dangerous to the Titans. Zeke is taken captive and Pieck and Galliard are easily disposed of. Unfortunately, things don't end perfectly for the Scouts either, as Gabi managed to sneak on their airship and shoot Sasha, who dies from the wound. The Scouts take Gabi and Falco back to the island as prisoners. It's revealed that a group of anti-Marleyan volunteers have been helping them for the past three years, assembled by Zeke and led by Yelena. | 9
War for Paradis | Upon returning to the island, Eren is sent to prison for his reckless actions that costs several of the Scouts in Liberio. However, he's able o break out and joins up with a new group of rogue soliders that call themselves "The Yeagerists." They believe the Eldian people are on the verge destruction, and the only way out is to follow Eren. Gabi and Falco are also able to escape captivity, when they run into Sasha's family, who inadvertantly causes Gabi to re-evaluate her beliefs about the people on the island. Zeke is being kept isolated in the forest, under the strict watch of Captain Levi. His plan is to use the power of the Founder and the royal blood in his veins to sterlize all Eldians, to ensure they showly die out as repentence for the Great Titan War. He is able to escape, after turning the Scouts watching him into titans. And although Levi does a number on him once again, he still gets away after brutality damaging the captain with a Thunder Spear. As revenge for the attack on Libero, Marley invades Paradis and rains hell down on Shinganshina. A massive battle insues between the Scouts, Yeagerists, and Marleyans while Eren clashes with Reiner and Galliard once more. The tides turn when Zeke, who had been bombarding the Marleyan airships, gets shot down and Eren desperately tries to reach him. Just as they are about to touch, Gabi shoots Eren with an anti-titan rifle, decapitating him, and his severed head lands in Zeke's outstretched hand. Eren awakens in the Paths, a dimension that connects all Subjects of Ymir, and goes on a literal trip down memory lane, as Zeke wanted to see if Grisha had been manipulating and brainwashing Eren. It turns out to be quite the opposite as, using the Attack Titan's ability to see the memories of future holders, Eren was the one that manipulated his father into killing the Reiss family and taking the Founding Titan. Back in the Paths, he frees Ymir Fritz from her millenniums long enslavement, wakes up back in the real world, and initiates The Rumbling. | 12
The Rumbling | All three walls collapse, as the hundreds of thousands of Colossal Titans that made them suddenly awaken and begin to march. A spindly creature emerges from Eren's body and connects back to his head, as he transforms into a massive, skeletal "Doomsday Titan" that dwarfs even the Colossal Titans. He pulls all Eldians breifly into the Paths to explain that, with the power of the Founding Titan and his army of Colossals, Eren is going to trample the outside world, eliminating all life outside of Paradis for the freedom of his people. Naturally, most of his comrades are opposed to this idea, so they begin to reconcile with the fact that they need to stop Eren by any means necesarry. The Scouts are forced to forge an alliance with some of the surviving Marleyans, namely Reiner and Pieck, and the unhardening of the titans means that Annie is now awake, for the first time in four years. They all reconvene, and although tensions arise between the two groups due to thier history, they are able to set differences aside in the face of the apocalypse. They reach a port on the edge of the island and sail to a Marleyan port for a better method of transportation, all while being attack by the Yeagerists. While this was happening, The Rumbling had Marley and already wiped out a sizible chuck of the population. The Rumbling was so large that people all over the world were being trampled at once. The titans catch up to the alliance at the port, and a noble sacrifice from Hange buys them enough time to fix the flying boat and escape. Eren shows them all a vision to make it clear that the only way to stop him is to kill him, much to the dismay of his former friends. The Rumbling slowly approches a military fort holding dozens of survivors when the Alliance intercepts it. The Scouts maneuver onto the back of Eren's titan, where hordes of former titan holders were waiting to attack them. The Scouts get overwhelmed fairly quickly, especially with minimal forces and a battle-damaged Levi. But thanks to Armin speaking with Zeke in the Paths, a few old allies return briefly and help turn the tide of the battle. Levi finally fulfills his promise to Erwin as decapitates Zeke, and Armin blows up the Doomsday Titan by transforming in a Colossal. However, Eren still had some fight left in him, so he transformed in a Colossal Titan himself and began to fight Armin. The spindly creature attempts to reunite with Eren, but Reiner, Pieck, and Annie all jump in to stop it. The two Ackermans clear a path into the mouth of Eren's titan, find his head, and the Rumbling is finally brought to and end when Mikasa cuts Eren's head off.
In the Paths, Eren and Armin go on a short journey together, visiting all the places they wanted to see as kids. Eren explains that everything was happening exactly how it played out in the visions he saw four years ago. So despite Armin's pleas for Eren to change his mind (as this conversation took place before the Rumbling), there is nothing he can or wants to do to change. In this momemt, Eren's head is clear, and he acknowledges everything turned out the way it did was because he was just a kid who got his hands on immense power. Armin admits that everything is partially his fault, as he was the one who introduced Eren to the outside world, so he had blood on his hands as well. The two share one final embrace before Eren sends Armin back to the real world. He's extremely distraught at the sight of his friend's served head, and Mikasa takes it away to give Eren a proper burial. |
